CJ&S Grad Student Accepted to the Peace Corps
Morgan Stone, a graduate student in Criminal Justice & Police Studies, has been invited to serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer. She will serve as a secondary education English teacher in Moldova beginning in June 2016.
“When I started this process back in June,” said Stone, “I never imagined that I'd actually be accepted into this prestigious program and the past few days have been full of soul searching as I figured out what to do. However, I truly believe that by participating in this program, I will open myself up to some amazing memories and experiences that have the potential to change my life. During my time as a graduate student in the Criminal Justice program here at EKU, I have continued to develop my passion for social justice and helping underserved populations that are so often overlooked. The professors and students that I have worked with this past year have been truly inspiring and I consider myself extremely blessed to have been able to collaborate with and learn from them. I can honestly say that they have been a key component in guiding my life to where it is right now and I could not be more thankful. I am also extremely blessed with the love and support from all of my friends and family and I hope that I can make them proud during my time as a Peace Corps Volunteer.”
