Distinguished Graduate Student: Kyra Martinez
Kyra has been a Graduate Assistant since arriving on campus, and according to her supervising professor, has excelled in her graduate assistantship.
During her four semesters as a Graduate student and Graduate Assistant, Kyra has distinguished herself as a scholar – she has had three peer-reviewed publications, and presented her research at national conferences. Additionally, she is on track to complete her thesis which will also be submitted for review to a peer-reviewed publication.
Not only has Kyra excelled at her work within the Justice Studies Graduate Program, but also she has been active as she served as one of the Presidents of the EKU chapter of The Southern Poverty Law Center as she helped to advance the mission of that organization.
Finally, Kyra has been selfless with her time as she has tirelessly assisted and mentored younger students in our College. According to her nominating professor, “Kyra is a terrific ambassador for our department, our school, and our university.”
Please join us in congratulating our Distinguished Graduate Student in the School of Justice Studies, Ms. Kyra Martinez!
